Using the right kind of toothpaste is also important to your health

Every day, the issue of people using potentially harmful household items becomes more and more prevalent. In 2016, the death toll in South Korea caused by humidifier disinfectants fatally rose to a total of 380 victims. Recently, researchers have discovered a bedrock of radon, a carcinogen, as well as other harmful substances in a wide variety of foods and household objects. If you were to ask about something like toothpaste, it has been revealed to be containing CMIT, which is a common ingredient of disinfectants used in most humidifiers. On top of that, most brands of toothpaste contain a chemical preservative called paraben, an artificial sweetener called Triclosan, and fluorine which can cause muscle disorders or neuropathy. Many people are surprised to find a lot of harmful substances in something typically assumed to be safe, like toothpaste. It is recommended for those that are health-conscious to avoid certain brand-name toothpastes that have such harmful ingredients.

Yurinco, a company based in South Korea, has created a line of toothpastes called “How to Make” that does not contain any harmful components, including methylpropylene, microplastics, mineral oils, synthetic surfactants, and saccharin. Instead, these ingredients are replaced with natural ingredients such as coconut surfactant, xylitol, green tea extracts, sage, and charcoal; all of these are categorized as raw materials. Coconut surfactants, especially, are eco-friendly and have a cleaner application in the form of soft foam. Xylitol helps to restore strength in our teeth, green tea and sage respectively prevents and treats gum inflammation, and charcoal protects the teeth overall. “How to Make” is made by compressing a single drop of water into a mixture of untreated toothpaste, so that the raw materials in the toothpaste can act directly on the teeth without getting diluted in water. Since the paste does not contain water, whether it’s purified or not, it is lighter than other products from generic brands. This in turn contributes to the portability of “How to Make,” ensuring hygiene on-the-go.

The first step to a healthier lifestyle is maintaining our hygiene. “How to Make” guarantees both convenience and hygiene because it differentiates itself from other toothpaste brands by replacing toxic ingredients with natural ones.
