Automobiles, ships and IT products have strongly represented Korea in the past, but cultural contents such as the Korean wave (‘hallyu’) are popular from all over the world and currently represent Korea now. The Korean wave has been a global content to learn and experience firsthand rather than just watch.

There are systematic programs to learn about hallyu. K-pop Camp intends to discover and support talented artists at home and abroad. K-pop Camp, hosted by Asia Young Artist bring up Association (AYAA) and mother company Gpi Art Field (GAF), is collaborating with T.I.P Dance Academy, KMC Music Academy and Sejong Actor’s studio.

Existing K-pop programs were passive experiences in accordance with watching K-pop performances and a tour of Seoul. However, K-pop Camp prepares 3 programs such as K-pop dance, music and acting (model poses). It will help to improve students’ skills in a short period of time. The instructors of K-pop Camp who created today’s hallyu will teach the students.

K-pop Camp programs will run between 9am and 4pm during school vacations. Students can choose from a 1 week to 6 weeks training period. After K-pop Camp, a certificate by AYYA will be issued for a student. A student who receives a certificate will be eligible to participate in GAF audition.

GAF CEO Jinno Ju said, “Many applications have been submitted to K-pop Camp from China & Southeast Asia. We expect that we will be able to export hallyu contents with tourism and education through K-pop Camp.”
