The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency will run the Busan Job Fair for International Students with Korean language ability on Friday.
About 40 Korean enterprises that aim to tap international markets or need foreign language and cultural competence will run booths to welcome candidates and, in some cases, offer on-the-spot interviews for immediate recruitment at the Busan BEXCO Exhibition Center.
“Many foreign students are hired for marketing research in Korea or sales management in their homelands,” said Lee Eun-joo, an official from KOTRA’s global talent recruitment department.
“Apart from immediate hiring, attendees will be able to network with other job seekers, build a rapport with employers and discover which skills Korean enterprises require for international students,” Lee added.
The student job fair will be the first to be held in Busan, which Lee said was in response to increasing demand for foreign graduates in the provinces.
“We have faced a growing demand for foreign manpower from Korean local enterprises in several regions, especially in Yeongnam (southeastern) districts including Busan, Changwon, Gimhae and so on.” said Lee.
KOTRA will host a second job fair in Seoul in September.
Students who register in advance will be given priority in job fair services and interviews. Visit jobfair.contactkorea.go.kr for registration or inquiries.
A list of positions and companies, ranging from sales and customer service management to technical jobs, is available on the website.
