While Taylor Swift, one of the most popular pop stars in the country, declared her support for Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, former President Donald Trump, the Republican candidate, said he would “probably pay a price in the market.”
Former President Trump said in an interview with Fox News on the 11th (local time) about Swift’s support for Vice President Harris. This was interpreted as the intention that supporters of former President Trump would turn away from Swift’s albums. Swift publicly supported President Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election and was bombarded with carpet bombs from the so-called “MAGA (Make America Great Again),” a strong supporter of former President Trump.
Earlier, Swift declared on Instagram shortly after the TV debate between Vice President Harris and former President Donald Trump ended the day before, “I will vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election.” She said, “I will vote for Harris because she fights for rights and causes, and I need a warrior to defend them.”
The Harris campaign has started to use Swift’s declaration of support to fundraise for its campaign. In an e-mail message to voters on the day, the camp said, “Taylor Swift has just endorsed Kamala Harris for president. Swift has a powerful social and economic influence with 280 million Instagram followers. Swift’s declaration of support for Harris is expected to affect the presidential election, especially young people.
Former President Trump recently posted a fake photo showing that Swift supports Trump. However, the photo in question was produced with artificial intelligence. Swift also said that the incident led to her declaration of support for Harris.
