Park Se-ri was a world-famous Korean golfer and the women’s golf coach at the Olympic Games. In particular, she emerged as a national hero in 1997 when the IMF broadcasted her winning the title live to a disappointed people. Park Se-ri is said to be a pioneer in the Korean women’s professional golf industry. Golfers who began to golf clubs while watching Pak’s performance are also called “Park Se-ri Kids.” In addition, she became a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame and the LPGA Hall of Fame. After retiring as a player, the Pak Se-ri Hope Foundation was established in 2016 to contribute to fostering golf talent and the development of the sports industry. A complaint occurred at the foundation I established. Pak Se-ri Hope Foundation filed a complaint against Pak Se-ri’s father.
This was because Park Se-ri’s father arbitrarily created and used seals to project the Saemangeum (Korea Reclamation Project Development Site) and Woseon Business Plan for the international golf school and resort projects. The Saemangeum project is a large-scale national project that develops a total of 409 km² of reclaimed land in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do, and develops the area as a global free trade hub since 1991. The main event held at Saemangeum was the World Scout Jamboree event last year. With the trust in the name of Park Se-ri, a large amount of investment has already been made, and later, Park Se-ri’s father’s arbitrary behavior appeared in the process of making a confirmation call to the foundation from the Saemangeum Development Administration.
At a press conference held on June 18, Park Se-ri admitted her father’s fault and said the incident happened separately from her own. She had a debt problem with her father for a long time, and she solved it for the reason of her family, and the process was repeated, and she organized a press conference as she came to the point where he could no longer be responsible. Park Se-ri made a choice as the chairman of the foundation between her family and the two positions of the foundation’s chairman. Did Park Se-ri, who admitted her father’s fault and chose the foundation, make a good choice?
