Hive is a large Korean entertainment agency with leading boy band BTS. With its successful plans, it has created influential K-pop stars on Billboard and around the world. It has also created the girl group NEW JENS. However, due to the stars’ discoveries and plans
HYBE 80% control, Ador 20% dispute.
In other words, it is a brand planning dispute between a large agency and its affiliates. Since it is an independent agency under its wing, it has successfully gained popularity from the first day of debut through planning and marketing, and it is believed that it has experienced a management dispute between the investment company and the agency. First of all, HYBE caused the stock price to plunge.
CEO Hee Jin-min, who planned and produced NEW JENS, is a famous entertainment planner who has already produced many girl groups, and founded NEW JENS, or Ador, with over $10 million in funding from HYBE. HYBE, an investment company, tried to leave its affiliates through the sale of its stake, and Ador claimed it was unfair. It is the sole planning and production of NEW JENS, and it has asked HYBE to refrain from imitating everything, but instead of responding to it, it claims that it is being driven to win management rights.
Rather than focusing on whose argument is right or wrong, I am worried about girl groups who are on the verge of success by raising their stock prices.
Globally, K-POP is Korea’s representative cultural content, and there was another dispute between managers and planners.
We will have to wait and see how the situation will unfold based on the dichotomy in the future.
