There is a “weight loss” craze among young Chinese women. A diet that admires an extremely skinny body like an idol and fills a daily diet with a few pieces of fruit and coffee is popular.
According to recent SNS, a trend of verifying daily diet and weight among Chinese women has recently been detected. It is a method of taking a picture of the food eaten during the day and posting it on social media.
It is said that most of them admire extremely skinny body types like idols and focus on dieting. According to the photos of ‘weight certification’ posted on Weibo, most of them are in the 30kg range.
Their certified diet is difficult to call a snack. One person ate a cup of coffee, a cup of tea, and a bag of cookies the size of a palm. Some certified a glass of soy milk as two drinks and an egg, while others stamped two pieces of strawberries, several blueberries, and green tea.
Such extreme diet is leading to death accidents. Hong Kong’s SCMP (South China Morning Post) reported that a 15-year-old female student, who is 165 centimeters tall, died last year after falling into a coma while losing up to 25 kilograms. The student is said to have relied on water without eating food at the end in order to lose more weight even when he was already at his limit.
The extreme diet trend, which comes from longing for a skinny body, is not unique to China. In Korea, it is also widely regarded as an object of envy among some teenagers.
In fact, there was a concern among some teenagers that “Pro-Anorexia,” which positively accepts anorexia as it helps them lose weight, spread. It was also shocking when it was known that neuropsychiatric drugs with side effects of loss of appetite were traded in the shadows such as X and Telegram.
Recently, the weight of people on TV or SNS has become the norm. Compared to them, they think they are fat and go on an extreme diet. This is the way to put health at risk. You need to stay healthy with healthy eating habits.
