TikTok To Launch ‘TikTok Note’ For Photo Sharing

TIKTOK NOTES

ByteDance, a Chinese company that operates the short-form video platform “TikTok,” is expected to launch an app (application) that allows users to share photos like Instagram.

ByteDance is developing a photo-sharing app called “TikTok Note.” Recently, some TikTok users are reportedly receiving pop-up notifications about allowing photo sharing.

The pop-up notification said ByteDance will soon release a new app for sharing photos, TikTok Notes, and users’ existing photo posts will be shared. Users can set up existing image posts not to be shared.

ByteDance is fiercely competing with Meta, which operates Instagram, in the social media market. While ByteDance is planning to release a photo-sharing app, Meta recently released a vertical video player for Facebook by checking TikTok.

Currently, TikTok is continuing to experiment with “TikTok Notes” as well as various formats that allow users to share 30-minute-long videos and text posts like X (formerly Twitter) and threads.

“As part of our ongoing efforts to innovate the TikTok experience, we are exploring ways to help users get creative and share their creativity with photos and texts,” a TikTok official said.
