Hundreds of thousands of mugs from global coffee franchise Starbucks are recalled

NESTLE HOMEPAGE

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said on the 21st that it will recall some users after receiving reports of burns or lacerations from Starbucks mugs.

The mug was made by Swiss food company Nestle and sold 440,000 units across the U.S., including Target and Walmart, from November last year to January this year. The mug was sold for $10 to $20 in product packages during this period. The committee said the reason for the recall was that if the mug is heated in a microwave or filled with hot liquid, it could overheat or break, causing burns and lacerations. So far, a total of 12 cases have been filed due to the mug. Nine of them include severe burns and blisters on the back of the fingers, and one case resulted in a cut on the finger.
