Hamas uses North Korean-made “F-7 rocket launchers”

Hamas, a Palestinian militant group that attacked Israel in a surprise attack, was found to have North Korean-made weapons. As there has been a possibility of a “triangle deal” in which North Korea’s conventional weapons flow into Hamas through Iran, attention is being paid to the route and size of North Korean-made weapons.

According to Radio Free Asia (RFA) on Sunday (local time), War Noir, a blogger who specializes in military affairs, released a captured video of members of the Al-Katsam Brigade, a Hamas military organization, on his X account the previous day, claiming that “one of the members has an F-7 high-explosive debris rocket made in North Korea.” The North Korean-made F-7 rocket is a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) launcher equipped with an 85-mm gun.

U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) professor Bruce Bechtol of Angelo State University explained to VOA that Hamas has been using F-7 rockets provided by North Korea for a long time. Bechtol also said North Korea provided Hamas with an anti-tank missile called the “firebird,” adding, “If the situation worsens in the future, Hamas is likely to use the firebird missile.”
