On March 23, Aziatix teamed up with Toyota to perform at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, CA. In celebration of Aziatix’s first commercial campaign in the United States, and to thank the Asian-American community for their support, this exclusive concert was only open to those who had won tickets through various giveaways leading up to the event. Prior to the show, concert- goers had the opportunity to test drive Toyota cars and win prizes.
The night kicked off with an explosive performance of “Get Back Home” by opening act IAMMEDIC.
They set the mood for the rest of the night with their fun and energetic stage. Aziatix, comprised of members Jay “Flowsik” Park, Eddie Shin, and Nicky Lee, then burst onto the stage with their first song “Alright,” followed by their various hits such as “Be Without You,” “Slippin’ Away,” and “Go,” their debut single off their self-titled EP Aziatix. They also sang “Ready, Set, Go!” for the first time in Los Angeles. This track was meant to encourage South Korea’s teams during the London 2012 Olympics, and it incorporates portions of “Arirang,” a Korean folk song. Members got to exhibit their individual talents as well, and Flowsik did a cover of Eminem’s “Rap God” which he had recorded and posted on YouTube a few weeks ago.
Aziatix has come a long way since their start 3 years ago. They have had international recognition and success, but they still remain humble and optimistic for the future. They did not forget to thank their family, friends, and fans who have supported them continuously. They definitely showed a lot of love to their fans by throwing out towels into the audience during their performances, as well as having a girl from Japan brought onstage and serenaded by the group. They even dedicated the song “Nothing Compares to You” to their devoted fans, known as “Aziaddicts.” Before their last song “Baby Let’s Go,” they mentioned that they have been so blessed. Recently they have signed with Cash Money Records, an agency which houses major names in the industry such as Lil Wayne, Drake, and Nicki Minaj. Their first release from Cash Money Records is highly anticipated, and as they chase their dreams they encouraged the crowd to do the same.
