Top Chinese chef to present state banquet dishes at Lotte Hotel Seoul

Jiang Bing Liang, the head chef of China’s Great Hall of the People, will be presenting Chinese state banquet dishes at Lotte Hotel Seoul’s Chinese restaurant Toh Lim. Jiang will collaborate with Toh Lim’s star chef Yeo Kyung-ok to provide lunch and dinner sets from Nov. 18-20. The lunch courses (138,000 won and 158,000 won) will include steamed shark’s fin with coconut, braised abalone with leek and oyster sauce, and hot noodle soup. The dinner courses (195,000 won and 235,000 won) will include sauteed sea cucumber and ginseng, and grilled crab with egg whites. Wine and soju at Sheraton Seoul D Cube City Hotel

The Lobby Lounge at the Sheraton Seoul D Cube City Hotel is presenting a variety of red and white wine as well as traditional Korean soju during the New Sheraton Social Hour. Wine and soju chosen by the hotel’s sommeliers include four Cabernet Sauvignon, four Chardonnay and Andong soju, Moonbaeju from Pyongyang, North Korea, and the red soju hongju. A glass of traditional soju is 6,000 won to 8,800 won, with bottles starting from 58,000 won. Three glasses of wine are 14,000 won, with bottles priced at 42,000 won. Winter packages at The Ritz-Carlton, Seoul

The Ritz-Carlton, Seoul will present three winter packages from Nov. 21 to Feb. 28, 2015. The “Wonder’ful Day” (250,000 won) includes a one-night stay at a superior deluxe room with breakfast choices including an American-style breakfast, rice porridge with side dishes and a short rib stew, which will be brought to one’s room. The “Wonder’ful Memory” (318,000 won) includes a one-night stay at a superior deluxe room with a selection of finger foods brought to one’s room. Christmas seasonal menu at Renaissance Seoul

Manhattan Grill at Renaissance Seoul Hotel will present Christmas dishes including Osole oysters and live abalone from Tongyeong, South Gyeongsang Province, and Korean beef tenderloin with a chocolate mud cake. The dishes can be paired with selected wines for an additional 75,000 won. The dishes are available from Dec. 1-31 for 149,000 won.
