Seoul Business Agency Promotes ‘DDP in TOKYO’ to Support Seoul’s Outstanding Beauty Companies to Enter Japan

 

The Seoul Business Agency (SBA, CEO Kim Hyun-woo), a small and medium-sized business support organization that makes Seoul’s brand competitiveness, announced on the 26th that it has signed a business agreement with eBay Japan and ARATA to promote the “DDP in TOKYO” project to support Seoul’s entry into Japan.The signing ceremony was held at Omotesando Museum in Japan with Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, Seoul Business Agency CEO Kim Hyun-woo, and eBay Japan Director Hideki Arai attending.Recently, the need for policy support related to the entry of Seoul beauty companies into overseas markets has emerged due to the COVID-19 pandemic transition and the growth of the global beauty industry.  

Until now, Seoul’s beauty industry has prepared various support policies covering fashion, beauty, bio, and medical, and most of them focused on fashion, bio, and clothing, resulting in a lack of direct support from beauty companies. As Seoul has competitiveness in the beauty industry in many ways, including the Korean Wave and contents, the Seoul Business Agency plans to secure Seoul’s future food through the global spread of content that combines Seoul-type beauty and K-content, and plans to promote “DDP in TOKYO.” “DDP in TOKYO” is a support project to promote excellent beauty companies in Seoul in Japan in connection with the Seoul Beauty and Fashion Lounge B the B, which is created and operated by the Seoul Business Agency and the Seoul Metropolitan Government in Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP). The Seoul Business Agency will expand the offline experience of small and medium-sized beauty companies in Seoul through offline pop-up stores using B the B in major Tokyo bases, and strengthen marketing for promising companies using key platforms. It will also, it will be able to quickly expand online influencers.

The Seoul Business Agency will also push for projects to support overseas expansion using offline spaces in line with the local market in Japan, which has a high proportion of offline health and beauty store purchases.To this end, the Seoul Business Agency signed a business agreement with Arata, one of the local distributors in Japan, setting the stage for the promotion of projects to support the integrated online and offline expansion of top beauty companies in Seoul with eBay Japan.  The “B the B” space model currently operated by DDP is applied to Japanese offline pop-ups to provide opportunities for Japanese locals to experience Seoul’s excellent beauty brands and products and experience Seoul’s lifestyle trends.
