Korean President Says Elon Musk Was “Interesting to Meet”… Musk “interested in Korea’s potential”

In response, CEO Musk said, “It was an honor to meet you,” adding, “We are looking forward to major efforts and achievements from Tesla and the Korean government for investment in Korea, and we are also very interested in our future potential.” In a surprise meeting where CEO Musk asked for an interview in time for President Yoon’s trip, the two reportedly had informal communication on various topics such as a decrease in the global population and the risk of Chat GPT.

Musk also commented, “Hair, hear!” on a video of President Yoon singing the pop song “American Pie” at a state dinner. President Yoon said at the time, “Korea has the highest level of manufacturing robots and high-quality manpower,” and emphasized, “If Tesla decides to invest (in Korea), we will actively support it in areas such as location, manpower, and taxation.” It also delivered a specially produced booklet titled “Korea For The Next Giga Factory.” CEO Musk said, “As a investment destination for Gigafactory, Korea is very interesting, and it is still one of the top candidates,” adding, “There will be an opportunity to visit Korea.”
