(Yonhap) |
Hip-hop group Dynamic Duo, has joined hands with the legendary DJ Premier, to unleash a collaboration EP “A Giant Step” on July 16.
DJ Premier is a U.S. singer-turned-producer who was the instrumental half of hip-hop duo Gang Starr. Showing more as a record producer, DJ Premier worked with A-team stars like Jay-Z, Maroon 5 and The Black Eyed Peas.
Dynamic Duo, consisting of Choiza and Gaeko, is one of the groundbreakers in the Korean music industry where rappers rarely find a place on the local music charts. The duo marked half a million sales with debut album “Taxi Driver” (2004). They also established a hip-hop label “Amoeba Culture.”
“DJ Premier is very interested in collaborating with Korean hip-hop musicians and he first suggested to Dynamic Duo (to make the EP),” said an official from Amoeba Culture said.
The trio is to stage a promotional concert for the new album on July 18 at Lotte Hotel World in Jamsil, Seoul.
