Don’t miss a moment with your child with ‘ZAMIZEMI’

How much time does one spend with their child? According to a recent survey, the time spent between a father and his child is five hours a day in Sweden, 47 minutes in OECD member countries, and six minutes in South Korea. There is also a study that claims that a relationship with a physically or emotionally absent father is harmful to a child’s overall mental health. The root of the issue lies in lack of leisure time between a father and his child. As of 2015, Korea has an average annual working time of 2,113 hours, ranking second in the 28 OECD countries following Mexico. The United States also ranks 11th with 1,790 hours. However, it is not easy to increase the time spent attending to children by reducing working hours. Many countries around the world are working to reduce hours of labor, but evidently, it isn’t easy to do so in a short period of time.

How can one resolve the issue of balancing work and family life? How can the breadwinner of the family lend a hand in his/her child’s development?

PT Insight has the answer with “ZAMIZEMI”, a child care education product. PT Insight is a presentation training and consulting company that employs many working fathers. The employees empathize with the problem of absent fatherhood, so they created “ZAMIZEMI” to act as near substitutes for busy dads. They recalled their own childhood when their parents turned off the lights and played around with the shadows before putting them to bed. Back then, shadows were recreated by flashlights. However, “ZAMIZEMI” upgraded the idea of a makeshift shadow show by providing basic animal-like shapes to create shadow characters and stories. “ZAMIZEMI” can also be controlled through a smartphone app, which helps tell stories to children from the father’s location.

Ki Tae Kim, CEO of PT Insight claims, “’ZAMIZEMI’ may be displayed in black and white, but it has a warmer feel than most colored video content.” With this innovation, fathers all around the world can bond with their children without much worry.
