Open Bank, which succeeded in getting listed on NASDAQ and expanding to Northern California, has now launched its first television ad.
The commercial by Open Bank is composed of contents that Korean-Americans can relate to, rather than a promotion of the bank’s business. Open Bank explains that their aim is to send a message of sharing and support among neighbors through depiction of the hardships Korean-Americans face when they first immigrate. The ad started airing prime-time on major networks on July 9th.
President Min Kim of Open Bank stated, “It was not easy to express something to which everyone can sympathize in such a short time. But we persisted on producing something that was different from typical corporate ads in order to disseminate our aims of goodwill and care.” She added, “We hope it will be seen more as a meaningful clip that allows Korean-Americans to empathize and share with one another, rather than just another bank advertisement.”
