Diageo Korea announced Wednesday the release of its new super-premium spirit W Rare by Windsor.
W Rare by Windsor, with 35 percent alcohol by volume, is designed for Korean consumers who prefer smooth-tasting whisky, company officials said. The product is crafted by master blender Douglas Murray with the finest Scotch whisky including from the Royal Lochnagar Distillery and also includes red plum and oakwood flavors as well as the essence of dates.

“W Rare by Windsor is the final outcome of Diageo’s endeavor for innovation to deliver the taste and quality that Korean consumers want,” said Diageo Korea CEO Cho Kil-soo at the product showcase.
“I am delighted that Diageo is beloved by Korean consumers through the Windsor brand,” British Ambassador Charles Hay said in the company’s press release. “W Rare is another great example of Diageo’s enthusiasm for creating an innovative new premium brand for the Korean market and I have no doubt that it will inspire Korean consumers to feel the new culture and taste.”
The product will be sold at 38,170 won ($34) per 450-milliliter bottle including VAT.
