CJ Entertainment is releasing South Korean legal crime comedy, “The Advocate: A Missing Body” in North American theaters on Friday, Oct. 23. The film stars Lee Sun-kyun from the critically acclaimed movie, “A Hard Day“, where Lee made his theatrical debut. The dark comedic twists in this sensational crime thriller are sure to take North American audiences on a wild ride.

Byun Ho-sung (Lee Sun-kyun, A Hard Day“) is a stylish lawyer with a penchant for “creatively” winning cases for his wealthy clients. His latest case is defending a corporate employee accused of murdering his girlfriend, but of course there is a catch – There’s no body to be found. Intent on besting former flame Prosecutor Jin Sun-mi (Kim Go Eun, “A Muse“) in the courtroom, Byun will do anything to prove his, likely guilty, client innocent. But, as Byun and Jin’s investigations intertwine, they begin to unravel a case fraught with political intrigue and revenge. Will Byun and loyal sidekick Mr. Park (Im Won-hee, Crying Fist“) be able to crack the case before they themselves are wrongly implicated for the crime?

“The Advocate: A Missing Body” is directed by Heo Jong-ho, who made his directorial debut with 2011’s “Countdown“, which gained acclaim at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival. Director Heo brings his sophomore film to life with an incredibly talented cast and intriguing plot turns, promising to be his most ambitious and memorable film to date.

“The Advocate: A Missing Body” is presented, distributed, and produced by CJ Entertainment. For more information, including a full list of theaters where the film will be playing, visit cj-entertainment.com.
