This year’s best Korean film “Veteran” has been receiving high acclamation from major foreign media.
Weekly American entertainment trade magazine ‘Variety’ praised the film saying, “It [“Veteran”] keeps showing fascinating action scenes so that viewers never get bored. The film will be welcomed not only to Asian movie fans, but also action movie fans from all over the world.” They also said, “The actors showed great performance and fascinating images, filming technique, and the variety of locations were also all incredible.”

Another entertainment magazine ‘Hollywood Reporter’ said, “Martial arts director Jung Doo-hong and movie director Choi Young-hwan’s filming technique contributed to the movie’s success, but it couldn’t be truly successful without Hwang Jung-min’s balanced acting.”
Biggest daily newspaper in New York The New York Times commented, “Even though Ryoo Seung-wan is not known as a humorous director, the film ‘Veteran’ contains full of humor from beginning to end. It is definitely an entertaining movie with a great story line with refined action scenes.”
The film “Veteran” opened in 35 theaters in the U.S. from Thursday, Sept. 17. From Sept. 18, the film has been released to 46 theaters all across North America.
