South Korea’s tech giant LG Electronics has won an award for its solar power system, the NeON 2, at the Intersolar Europe exhibition, the world’s leading solar power trade show which is scheduled to run through this Friday in Munich.
A judging panel for the Intersolar Award 2015, held on the sidelines of the trade fair, recognized the high efficiency of LG’s solar energy solution, according to the tech giant.
The LG solar product, with its cell measuring 15.67 centimeters, deploys top-notch technologies to achieve the industry’s highest efficiency level at 19.5 percent.
“We are extremely grateful to the organizers of Intersolar Europe and international industry associations for recognizing LG NeON 2 at this year’s show,” said Lee Chung-ho, senior vice president and head of LG’s solar business division.
The company won the same award with the Mono X NeON for its outstanding performance in 2013 for the first time among solar module makers based in the Asia-Pacific region.
