According to the Daily Mail on the 10th, Baswick, a female detective working in Somerset, England, was found to have intentionally entered a specific key more than 21 million times on a laptop keyboard to make it look like she was working from home.
The investigation was conducted as the number of abnormal inputs was detected for a long time in software used by the department.
What Baswick tricked into looking like he was working productively by pressing certain keys over and over again.
Baswick made more than 21 million indiscriminate keyboard inputs using his work laptop during working hours. Nearly 3 million inputs were recorded per month.
It has been confirmed that she shopped online and searched for flights during working hours. During working hours in November 2023, evidence of online shopping for as many as four and a half hours came out.
Baswick admitted, “We repeatedly pressed certain keys and prevented the laptop from going into standby mode.”
During the public hearing, police chief Sarah Crewe said she “didn’t perform her duties properly while working from home,” adding, “These acts amount to gross misconduct.”
