A nuclear reactor along the west coast came to a sudden halt Wednesday, its operator said.
The Hanbit No. 2 reactor at the nuclear power plant in Yeonggwang, South Jeolla Province, unexpectedly stopped around 11:26 a.m., a spokesman for the plant said.
No immediate damage was reported, and there was no radiation leak, he said, adding that the plant is in a stable condition.
An investigation is under way to find the exact cause of the stoppage. (Yonhap)
