On the 19th, Hippocratic AI in the United States launched Polaris 3.0, which provides in-depth medical knowledge based on large-scale language models (LLM), including artificial intelligence (AI) nurse Anna.
The company was co-founded in February 2023 by a group of experts from Nvidia, Google and Johns Hopkins hospitals.
According to the Associated Press, Anna, an AI nurse, can have voice conversations and chats 24 hours a day. You can choose a wide range of languages, including English, French, Haitian and Hindi.
Anna can also answer hospital records and related questions.
Hypocratic AI explained that it is now possible to reduce the time it takes for medical personnel and hospital staff to work.
Hippocratic AI focused on the fact that an hourly wage for a licensed nurse is around $40 per hour, while Anna is $9 per hour. However, the phrase has now been removed from the advertisement. The reason for the deletion is unknown.
There are also many voices of criticism. The National Nurses Union (NNU), the largest nurse union in the U.S., has held 20 rallies so far and opposed the use of AI in hospitals.
In April last year, they marched on the streets in San Francisco, saying, “The patient is not an algorithm.”
Adam Hart, an emergency room nurse in Nevada who participated in the protest, argued that “it is reckless to leave the accident process to the machine.”
Melissa Bibi, a nurse at a cancer hospital in California, said, “(The AI nurse is interfering with work by providing too much fake alarm information, let alone helpful to work.”
