“Tobalaba” station, one of the most floating subway stations in Santiago, Chile’s capital, has changed its name to Samsung Electronics’ product name

Tobalaba Station, one of the most floating subway stations in Santiago, Chile, has officially changed its name to Galaxy AI Station. It is the first time that Samsung Electronics changed its name to a name of a subway station. With artificial intelligence technology becoming a core competitive edge in the IT industry, Samsung Electronics, a leading Korean company, is attracting Latin American consumers. With the new name, there are also spaces where visitors can experience the Galaxy S25 series and AI technology.

In addition to the Korean Wave in Latin America, such as Korean movies, music, and food, smartphones containing our technology also seem to be greatly loved by consumers in the region. In particular, Latin America, such as Mexico and Brazil, is showing strong performance as one of the major regions that led to the growth of the Korean smartphone market last year. In fact, according to Samsung Electronics, pre-sales of the Galaxy S25 series, which was recently released in Latin America, increased by 31% compared to the Galaxy S24 series that was released last year. The use of Galaxy artificial intelligence installed in smartphones is also on the rise. Since its launch in January 2024, Galaxy AI has been used more than 1.157 billion times in 40 Latin American countries alone, and usage has also increased by more than 250% over the past five months.

The Galaxy AI train has also started running in Peru. The Galaxy AI train was opened on Lima Subway Line 1, a means of transportation that 500,000 passengers use every day late last month, and it is said to be well received by locals.
