The story of a transgender woman who had surgery to remove six ribs because she wanted to have a narrow waist has been told.
The New York Post reported on the 13th (local time) that Emily James, a Kansas City resident, underwent surgery to remove a total of six ribs, three each, to reduce her waist circumference. Emily paid about $17,000 for the surgery.
Emily shared the situation before and after the surgery on her SNS. She posted a video clip, saying that she will have her ribs removed in three days before the surgery. Even after the surgery, Emily said that she is wearing a corset 24 hours a day to remove the swelling, adding that the pain is not severe thanks to the medical staff.
“I got permission from the medical staff to take it,” Emily said, revealing the ribcage in a video that had been removed. “At first, I was going to give it to my friend as a gift. Now I’m planning to make a crown out of the ribcage,” he said.
Emily is not the first woman to have rib removal surgery. Jada, who appeared on a European reality show last year, said she reduced her waist by 2.5 inches. Jada, who was a nurse, said she underwent surgery to become a model and actress. Back in 2015, American model Pick Fox underwent the surgery to resemble the cartoon character Jessica Rabbit. Fox is known to have undergone a total of 15 plastic surgery, including one that removed six ribs.
Rib removal surgery is a thoracic reduction surgery that people who want to reduce their basic frame beyond diet or exercise look for. The 11th and 12th ribs, which are usually removed or relocated, are the lowest. After surgery, you should wear an abdominal band such as a corset, and in this process, the waist is fixed and shaped into a narrow shape.
However, doctors warn that it is dangerous to have the surgery for cosmetic purposes. Because ribs protect organs, organs such as kidneys and livers can be more damaged if they are hit or injured after surgery.
