In an article titled “You must order something now to play at Starbucks,” it said that the policy of not being able to use stores without orders at more than 11,000 stores in North America will be implemented from the 27th.
The WSJ cited Starbucks North American President Sarah Trilling’s remarks that “we need to reset expectations on how to use the space and who uses it.”
The policy is part of an effort to provide customers with safe and clean stores and services.
As a result, baristas must ask customers who do not follow the new policy to evict. Drinking water, which was previously provided free of charge, will only be available to customers who order it from now on.
Accordingly, the ‘store opening policy’, which has been in place since 2018, will be abolished after seven years.
