While the U.S. presidential election is being counted, former President Donald Trump, a Republican candidate, declared an “election victory.”
“I want to thank the American people for having the honor of being elected as your 45th and 47th president,” former President Trump said in front of supporters gathered at the Palm Beach Convention Center in Florida, where he is home, at around 2:30 a.m. Eastern time on November 6.
“We will help our country heal,” former President Trump said. “We will fix the border, we will fix everything about our country.” “There is a reason why we made history tonight,” he said. “I will fight for you, your family, and your future.”
Former President Trump said, “This is a great victory for the American people and will make America great again.”
The Associated Press reported that as of 2:40 a.m., former President Trump secured 267 electoral votes out of 538 electoral votes. In addition to Georgia and North Carolina, former President Trump virtually confirmed his victory by beating Pennsylvania, which was the most competitive state in the race. In the U.S. presidential election, he wins if he secures more than 270 electoral votes out of 538 electoral votes.
