Lamborghini pulls out of Seoul Motor Show

Italian luxury sports brand Lamborghini on Tuesday withdrew from participation in the 2015 Seoul Motor Show, which will run April 3-12 at KINTEX in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province.

“We regret to confirm that Lamborghini has pulled out from the plan at the last minute, due to a lack of support from headquarters,” the organizing committee stated on the day.

The committee, which has put the supercar-maker at the forefront of the promotion this year, said it will seek for compensation of up to 30 million won ($28,000) for the cancellation. “Because it was the first year for Lamborghini to join the Seoul Motor Show, we have put a lot of effort to give it the media limelight and others. Pulling out less than two weeks from the event is quite embarrassing,” a PR representative of the committee told The Korea Herald.

A total of 31 car brands including another Italian luxury carmaker Maserati, as well as British brand Bentley and others will be presenting about 350 models during the motor show.

Lamborghini, which reported a total of 629 million euros ($666 million) in sales last year, has recently launched Aventador LP 700-4 Pirelli edition in Korea.
