“$400 if you don’t want to line up.” Introduce Disney World Lightning Lane Premier Pass

Disney, which operates the world’s largest theme park, has launched the Lightning Lane Premier Pass, which allows you to ride directly without having to line up in front of the rides. According to the Associated Press and CNN on the 16th (local time), Disney announced that it will test-launch the Lightning Pass at theme parks in the U.S. in a very limited number. In addition to the basic admission ticket, this ticket is a product that requires additional purchase. It is designed to be purchased and used by only a few visitors, and the daily rate is set differently depending on each date and the demand on the day.

From the 30th, it will be available at Disney World Resort in Florida for a minimum of $137.39 and a maximum of $478.19, CNN said. Disneyland in California will sell it for $400 from the 23rd to the end of the year, and from next year, it will set a variable rate in the range of $300 to $400 depending on the date and demand.

Previously, Disney sold tickets for faster rides than ordinary ticket holders for the $30 range. However, there were inconveniences, such as having to designate the time for users to use the ride in advance with the app.

By comparison, the newly introduced Lightning Pass allows people to use the rides they want without waiting at any time. As a result, it is expected to gain popularity among the wealthy who lack time and are rich economically.

However, considering that Disney Resort’s basic one-day admission ticket (ticket) costs between $104 and $109, the lightning pass is up to four times the price, which may shock visitors, the Associated Press said.

Don Munsil, the operator of MouseSavers, a site that tracks theme park prices, said of Lightning Pass, “People will feel bad if everything new that Disney is launching feels only available to the wealthy.”
