French luxury brand Balenciaga, which drew attention by introducing a transparent tape-shaped bracelet worth 4 million won earlier this year, unveiled a wallet in the shape of a snack bag worth 2 million won this time.
“Demnagram,” which is known to deliver personal news faster than Balenciaga’s official social network service (SNS), recently posted various photos and videos on his Instagram, along with the article “Valenciaga Summer 25 Collection New.”
Demnagram is an Instagram account run by fashion enthusiast Saba Bakia, known as a big fan of Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasalia.
Among the new figures released on the account, the “Potato Chip Bag” is folded in a crumpled state. At first glance, it looks like a finished snack bag, but the moment you hold it on both sides and unfold it, the wallet shape comes out.
This is Balenciaga’s new wallet, which was inspired by a bag of potato chips, and is expected to cost $1,750. The wallet comes in two options, a long wallet and a half wallet, and comes in a variety of colors, including yellow, green, and black, like potato chips in various flavors.
This is not the first time that a product released by Balenciaga has made headlines. Earlier, Balenciaga also released a potato chip-shaped clutch bag in its 2023 S/S season collection. At that time, Balenciaga made headlines for its leather appearance that was difficult to distinguish from a real potato chip bag.
The fall and winter 2022 collection attracted attention by introducing the “world’s most expensive garbage bag.” Known to be inspired by Georgia creative director Demna Gvasalia’s growing up, the Trash Pouch drew attention for its design similar to that of a garbage bag. At the time, the Trash Pouch, made of cowhide, was released for about 1890. Earlier this year, Paris Fashion Week also introduced a bracelet design that looks like thick transparent tape. Although the product looks like a transparent tape, it has the Balenciaga logo engraved on the inside and the words “adhesive” written on it. The price of the bracelet, which is around 4 million won, has been controversial since it was revealed.
Later, Ikea British Instagram posted a photo of a male employee wearing black sunglasses, black hoodie, and beige pants with a towel wrapped around his waist, which was sold by Ikea. Ikea Vinarne Bastawel costs 16 pound.
