One of the representative artworks in Korea was inspired by the moon jar that retains the unchanging beauty of time. “The neorun is a model that reflects Genesis’s elegance in the purest yet perfect way,” said Lee Sang-yeop, vice president of global design at Hyundai Genesis. “It contains the value that is filled as it is emptied out like a moon jar and the dignity that does not change over time.” The appearance of the neorun reminds of a elegant moon jar without any pretense. The moon jar, which represents baekja in the late Joseon Dynasty, is not flashy but sought for gentle color, elegant curves and volume, and ample space. It is simple but never gets tired of it even if you look at it for a long time. The neorun also adopted a elegant design that makes it look neat and voluminous. It simplifies lines and sides, reduces seams, and eliminates unnecessary or excessive decorations. In order to provide a sense of space visually, the pillar (B-pillar) in the middle of the front and rear doors is removed. Fillers affect the rigidity of the body.Without the B pillar, which is located on the side of the body with weak rigidity, collision safety is deteriorated. It also threatens the lives of passengers. If the B pillar is shipped damaged, it is considered a serious defect that cannot be operated. On the contrary, the “filleris” without the pillar proves that it has the technology to protect passengers by maintaining the rigidity and safety of the body. The B pillaris provides comfort and openness when boarding. The space looks bigger, too.
Like the Rolls-Royce Phantom and Ghost, the coach door, which opens with the front and back doors facing each other, is also applied. The electric side step is automatically activated when the vehicle door is opened. It helps passengers get in and out of the vehicle more easily. When not in use, it is not exposed, maintaining the exterior design integrated with the vehicle body. Considering the size of the vehicle that is more than 5 meters, it also plays the role of a shopper-driven car.
