In Bangladesh, a medical school instructor is shocked by an incident in which a student was shot with a handgun during a class

According to local media such as the Dhaka Tribune and Daily Star on the 6th (local time), instructor Raihan Sharif suddenly pulled a pistol out of his pocket and shot the student while arguing with a student during a forensic class oral test at a medical school in Shiraziganj City, Rajshahi, north-central Bangladesh, on the afternoon of the 4th.

The victim, a third-grade student, was shot in the thigh of his right leg and underwent surgery at a university hospital. Fortunately, the bullet hit the mobile phone in his pants, and his life was not threatened. About 40 students who were taking the class with him asked for outside help after the incident, and at the same time locked the instructor in another room and reported it to the police. The instructor was arrested by police. Police said they confiscated two pistols, 81 bullets, four magazines, two knives and 10 daggers from his bag. The instructor is said to have posted a number of gun-related videos on his SNS account. According to the students, the instructor in question threatened students several times with the pistol. The police said, “The instructor usually held the class with the pistol,” adding, “It seems that he committed the crime because he couldn’t contain his anger while arguing with the student over a minor issue.” The students demanded the school punish the instructor and declared boycott of the class.

The school has begun disciplinary proceedings against the instructor, who has been lecturing for a year.
