The recommended search term exposed by Chinese e-commerce company AliExpress is acting as a harmful environment for adolescents.
Ali’s recommended search terms include embarrassing words like “desire dress.”
When you search for underwear, there are many adult products than ordinary underwear, and some products also appear with sensational images and videos.
This screen can be viewed by anyone on the Ali app or website without membership registration.
It has also been confirmed that laser pointers that can only be purchased by adults due to vision damage or burn concerns are sold without being classified as “19 gold.”
AliExpress said, “We are actively taking measures to ban products that do not comply with regulations internally,” adding, “We are aware that there are many areas that need to be improved because it is still in the early stages of localization.”
In an era when everyone easily uses the Internet, AliExpress should quickly establish regulations to avoid harming teenagers.
