The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) announced that a 6.6-magnitude earthquake struck eastern Mindanao Island in the southern Philippines at 6:35 p.m. local time, citing the U.S. Geological Survey.
The earthquake site is 141 kilometers southeast of Butuan, Philippines, and the depth of the earthquake is 56 kilometers.
More than 80 aftershocks have continued in the region, with five earthquakes of magnitude 6.0 or higher since the 7.6 magnitude earthquake occurred at 10:37 p.m. local time two days ago.
At least two people were reported to have died in the Philippines two days ago, and the U.S. Geological Survey and the Japan Meteorological Agency once issued tsunami warnings.
