A resident is experiencing hanbok at a Korean food festival in San Jose, Costa Rica, on the 12th (local time).
More than 40,000 people visited the Korean food festival held in the middle of Costa Rica’s capital in Central America for two days. According to the Korean Embassy in Costa Rica and the San Jose City Hall in Costa Rica on the 13th (local time), the K-Festival Gastronomico was held in San Jose National Park, the capital of Costa Rica, from the 11th to the 12th. The event, which was held for the second time after last year, was led by the local Korean community and attracted more than 300 people, including members of the Korean Wave fan club, influencers and volunteers in Costa Rica. The festival was organized by the Korean Embassy and the city of San Jose. There are 11 booths where you can taste Korean food such as bulgogi and gimbap, as well as various Korean culture-themed programs such as taekwondo demonstrations, K-pop auditions, and hanbok experiences.
Ambassador Kim Jin-hae and San Jose Mayor Johnny Araya visited the Korean food festival in Costa Rica. San Jose City expressed its expectation in a press release before the event, saying, “Many will discover new interest in Korean culture through events that can promote friendly relations between the two countries.”
More than 40,000 Costa Ricans, including Ambassador Kim Jin-hae and San Jose Mayor Johnny Araya, visited the site and enjoyed the festival, the Korean Embassy said. The Korean Embassy in Costa Rica said, “Following Korean dramas introduced since the 2000s, K-pop is enjoying great popularity and leading the Korean Wave in Costa Rica,” adding that it will continue various events in the future.
