He posted a message in the form of a reply to a tweet from a user who mentioned BTS, saying, “BTS is like a name for STDs.”
Villaruel also tweeted, “I hate Koreans with pink hair.”Local BTS fans see this as a reference to BTS leader RM (real name Kim Nam-joon).At that time, some BTS fans reportedly pointed out and protested.

“I don’t expect a proper apology from him (Villaruel) given his recent remarks,” he said, adding, “If similar tweets are found, don’t fall for provocation promotion and report them to Army (BTS fan club).”Villaruel, a lawyer-turned-candidate, comes from a military family who participated in a military dictatorship called the “Dirty War” (1976-1983), and has taken the lead in advocating the need to “re-evaluate the military government.”A sitting member of the House of Representatives, he was also under fire for his alleged attendance at the party with air tickets provided for official duties.
