According to foreign media reports such as the New York Post on the 4th (local time), A, a foreign man, posted a photo of him meditating outdoors in the nude on his Instagram on the 30th of last month. The place where he meditates was a Hindu temple in Bali, and locals who saw it poured out criticism.

Local influencer and shoe designer Neelu DeGelantik shared the video in question on social media and criticized, “It’s insane to meditate naked in our temple,” adding, “It’s humiliating for the people of Bali and their beliefs.” In addition, he said he asked the authorities to hold the man.

Upon hearing the news, Teddy Riyandi, director of Indonesia’s immigration bureau, said, “We are conducting a serious investigation into the case.”

Meanwhile, this is not the first time a foreign tourist has committed such atrocities in Bali.

In March, a Russian who took a picture of his lower body exposed at Bali’s holy site of Agung Mountain and posted it on his SNS was deported. He was also banned from entering Indonesia for at least six months.

Mount Agung is an active volcano on Bali Island and is known to be the highest among Indonesian islands. It is also considered a “residential area of the gods” and is considered sacred by Bali locals.

Last year, Canadian actor Jeffrey Douglas Craigen was on the cutting board by posting a video of him dancing naked on Mount Batur. In the same year, a Russian influencer couple went up to the 700-year-old Banyan Tree, which is considered sacred, and took a nude photo to shock them.
