You can have the best of both with a coffee cocktail, a perfect duo of espresso with a hint of alcohol mixed together, only at HAUS by Coffee Hunter in Koreatown!
Starbucks used Italy’s popular dark roasting of espresso as a base for other various types of coffee. European-style espresso coffee drinks have not only led the U.S., but worldwide as the trailblazer in the coffee market. In addition to a variety of coffee drinks that are espresso-based, coffee cocktails are also widely enjoyed in Italy. Just as how the name speaks for itself, coffee cocktails are made using two types of drinks the general population cannot seem to live without – espresso and alcohol. Adding milk, whipped cream and/or fruit is a great feature as it creates a soft and lightly sour flavor to the drink. HAUS by Coffee Hunter is the first ever specialty coffee shop to serve coffee cocktails in Los Angeles, which created a big buzz around the local community. “What is so unique about the coffee cocktail is that the alcoholic liquor (Kahlua, Baileys, Triple Sec, or Amaretto) is sunk at the bottom and the double-shot espresso floats above while the whipped cream, fruit, cinnamon or cacao powder that sits on top compliments the overall drink. With the exclusive flavor, aroma and each layer being at a different temperature, you can enjoy the perfect combination of refined flavor of a coffee cocktail,” said Chris Eun Sang Kim, owner of HAUS by Coffee Hunter. “Especially since we also have professional baristas who are from IBS (Italian Barista School), you won’t need to go all the way to Europe just to try an authentic coffee cocktail!”
HAUS by Coffee Hunter offers a total of seven different types of Italian coffee cocktails – two of which are non-alcoholic: Mary’s Coffee (a drink you can taste 4 different types of coffee with a mix of cream), Lady (Italia hot white chocolate and Amaretto, which is an almond-based liquor, creates this sweet drink that women can particularly enjoy), Competition ( the sour taste of orange and the bitter taste of alcohol, combined with espresso balances each other out), Summer Time (the perfect drink that reminds you of summer where you can actually feel the warmth and coldness run down your throat) and Coffee Sour ( keep relaxed and refreshed with this iced, lemony cocktail). Nutellino (a dessert drink that has a mixture of Nutella and espresso) and Agrumito (the sweet aroma and sour taste of orange are sure to keep you in a happy mood) are the two non-alcoholic coffee cocktails.
