The KOAMEX (Korea International Advanced Medical Devices and Medical Industry Exhibition) hosted by the Daegu Gyongbuk Medical Innovation Foundation ended successfully with 135 companies from Korea participating. 135 companies, including DK Medical, participated in the second KOAMEX. In addition, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, and the Dominican Republic participated in the international pavilion and expressed active interest in exchanges with the Republic of Korea. 135 companies participated in KOAMEX and operated 300 booths. The number of visitors (96 companies participated in 22 years/ 1.4 times last year) also increased by 2.3 times from 13,000 last year, and the event began at 10 a.m. on the 30th when the KOAMEX 2023 Leaders Forum was held. Starting with Chairman Yang Jin-young’s opening speech, Villanueva, Vice Minister of Health of the Dominican Republic, and Natalie Virag Medtronic, Vice President of the Ministry of Health, gave a congratulatory speech. Juntra Garbwang, chairman of the SIDCER (Clinical Research and Research Ethics Certification Bureau) under the World Health Organization, Rodney Reynosa, the first Dominican Republic secretary, Yoo Chul-wook, chairman of the Korea Medical Device Industry Association, and Kim Beop-min, head of the pan-ministerial medical device business.
On the 2nd, a business agreement was held with Thammasat University and Konken University in Thailand. Tammasat University is the second oldest national university in Thailand. In the future, it promised to promote international joint projects with KMedi Hub and exchange academic and human resources. Konken University is also one of Thailand’s top three universities with university hospitals and is planning to expand its hearing aid business, which promised to cooperate with Kmedi Hub in this regard. Seminars and forums were also held in various ways. Medtronic is the world’s No. 1 company in the field of medical devices. Medtronic Vice President Natalie Virag participated in KOAMEX and introduced new medical technologies. This year’s KOAMEX is meaningful that Thailand and the Dominican Republic attended and grew on an international scale.
