Cambodian local news outlet Fresh News reported the fire has killed at least 10 people. Reuters could not immediately confirm if there were casualties and local police, in a statement on the fire, made no mention of how many were dead and injured. The fire broke out just before midnight on Wednesday (December 28) at the Grand Diamond City Casino, which is popular with Thai gamblers, in the town of Poipet, according to local Cambodian police, adding that the fire is under control. Parinya Phothisat, the governor of Sa Kaeo province on the Thai side of the border, said 32 Thais were being treated in hospitals there and one had died.
